Meet the Makers: Mother’s Day Special Edition

We believe that Time is an invisible ingredient, and so the majority of what makes up an IDYLHOUR box is carefully handmade.

It’s our wonderful friend Queenie Wang-Sitterson, back for a second time on Meet the Makers! Founder of AEnons, Queenie was inspired to build AEnons because she learned the importance of self-care from her mother. Their line of skin care products are nourishing and simple, giving you exactly what you need without any fillers. AEnons is smart, stylish and sustainable and we couldn’t resist adding two of their Rosy Glow face masks to the Mother’s Day care box.

Applying the Solar Face Cream from HolisticRanch feels like giving parched skin a cool drink of water. This is likely because the Yucca Valley, nestled within the Mojave Desert, is the base of operations for founder Nicole Granato and her partner.

In addition to Nicole’s beautiful skincare line, being an international wellness expert and running Holistic Ranch General Store, the young family also give horses a second chance on their horse rescue.

Maggie Latham is a Cleveland-based fiber artist. What makes her work so incredibly special, beyond her immense creative talent, is the natural dying process used in PaperTiger creations. The gorgeous and rich golden color of the organic cotton velvet eye pillows we included in our Mother’s Day care box was achieved using botanicals and ingredients entirely found in her Northeast Ohio bioregion. Anyone who has ever visited Cleveland will find this remarkable, because it’s not exactly known for its lush and tropical growing seasons. (We can say that, we’re from here.)

Fragrant and soothing, each eye pillow is certified unique. The natural dying process, lacking the permanence of chemical additives, means that each good will slowly change and evolve in individual and unpredictable ways. Hmm…kind of like people, huh?

We’ve had our eye on Alaya Tea for quite a while and knew this was the time to share their Lemongrass + Ginger Tea. It’s tangy and perfect, calming and enlivening. Founded by Esha Chhabra and Smita Satiani, this tea company is both Indian and women-owned, celebrating the beauty of the women who are the backbone of agriculture in the tea growing regions of the world.
